Oh my God!
Yesterday was madness at Rigoletto! Fucking and utterly madness!
The eventmanagement decided to push the opening with 40 minutes giving me 3 minutes to change when I got there. Oh holy how I ran.
And on top of it all we got a huge soda delivery! We had a lot to do.
Then they arrived - about 1000 specially invited guests. I was in charge of the Balcony section and people are generally strange when they mingle. But I felt cool and in control. I do believe it all had to do with my uniform.

Then after the show people took a long time to leave the cinema, and then it was completely and utterly dead.
For 6 shows.. we had aprox. 20 visitors.

I had planned to go to the Christmasparty - but I was tired and wanted to sleep.

Today I'm off again! Yet a big Arn Gala at Park and tomorrow it's the same again.
Holy to the moley!

Got to start pimping myself.

But first getting my ass outside to shop for some potatoes.

I cannot believe I'm leaving in 8 days. FUCK!

since my last entry I have worked like a crazy person. Constantly being called in for extra shifts and advanced from being supervised to being all alone and managing on my own. I feel absolutely fabulouso!
So this week is completely packed.

This past weekend I worked Sat and Sun at Park for some specialshows of Bee Movie.
On Sun, Helmut, the legend of German blues and machinist taught me how to handle the huge projector. And I got to start all three rounds of Bee movie. It was absolutely awsome!! He said I'm officially his apprentice!
And I got the sickest promotionsock of Bee Movie. It's black/yellow striped and it's about 1.5 meter long! And it says Bee Movie on it and all. I love it!

Today is quite stressful.
I have to finish an home-exam and take a shower, curl my hair, make dinner, get ready, find my stockings, put on make-up and get my ass to work. 16.45-22.00 - and today is the pre-gala of Arn. and i'm working the two big galas on Wednesday and Thursday too, but on Park. So I'll be working 25 hours in 3 days.

Then for those who wishes I'll be a cashier on Saturday between 11.45 to 16.45 - we have special openinghours so people can come and buy some giftcards and such.

And then my last shift will be on the 26th working the candyshop with my sexy arse - for 12 hours :-)

And then - on the 27th I'm off to Chile.
Fuck.

So that's my life at the moment, utterly and completely mad. Spending most of my time at the movies and loving every second of it!

My dear friends,

you are now reading the words of a proud employee of SF Rigoletto.
By recommendation from SF Söder - I went to an interview today at 14.00h. and by 14.34 Marie has hired me.
And I start on Monday by attending the staffmeeting, getting my uniform (pennskirt, shirt, vest and probably a tie, nametag) - I cannot wait! Finally!
WOHO!!!

That' all for now!

But soon I'll update with loads of pictures from my visit to Stuttgart!

Film Review (Non-spoiler)

Hot Fuzz

2007
Director:
Edgar Wright
Writers: Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg
Genre:
Action,  Comedy, Crime
Leading actors: Simon Pegg as Nicholas Angel and Nick Frost as PC Danny Butterman

Well, when you thought that British humour could not be better - you are proven that you are happily mistaking!
First thought are drawn to the editing process - what skills - what difference - I think I might get an epileptic shock. But over all - a great piece if you're feeling down and need to see something produced by the guys that made Shaun of the Dead.
I can promise you some laughters and perhaps a scare or two.
Simon Frost portrays with excellence the not so traditional cop obsessed with protocol and work finding his new assigned spot at Sandford a nightmare and that includes the semi-dimwit Danny Butterman (whom has watched EVERY actionfilm ever made).
After some days at Sandford the new partners start coming across a series of mysterious "accidents" and other events which leads Angel to start an investigation to once and for all find out what lies beneath the "Village of the year"-Sandford.

Big finale - loads of laughters and definitely worth watching!

Film Review (Non-spoiler)

Tonari No Totoro -
Min Granne Totoro
1988
Director & Write
r: Hayao Miyazaki
Genre:
Animation
Main actors: Totoro, Mei and Satsuki Kusakabe

Finally!
The movie all nerds have been waiting for! After years and years of dealing with contracts, Triangelfilm got the contract to showcase Totoro and several other Miyazaki masterpieces!
This day was very special and I shall keep it close to my heart. Not only because Tonari No Totoro finally entered the big screen. No, because this day . my mum, my dad AND my sister actually wanted to go and see the movie with me! And I have never been happier! Even my dad was humming to the ending afterwards.

Moving on.

As most of Miyazaki's pieces the film portrays various aspects of life depending on what eyes are observing the screen.
For a little child - imagination and hope sparks from the very moment Satsuki opens the door to their new house.
For the young adults and adults it portrays numerous things. What constantly grabs my attention is that the father is the one taking care of the two little girls. Giving the viewer time to reflect on the parental stereotypes and the care of children.
As always Miyazaki  gives us the problematics of death - were is the mother? Will she ever be back? What insecurities are awaken in the little girls? Problematics that are an everyday struggle for many families.
But also, the film gives a feeling of pure happiness - of togetherness. The relationship between the sisters is more than wonderful and constantly reminds me of my relationship with my sister. Eventhough we are both "adults" she still gives me piggy-back rides and watches out for me and I do her on my special way. And though dad constantly works - he always makes us laugh.

Tonari No Totoro is the illusion of safety that only an innocent child can find. Something that when adults we should remember. Hold on to and cherish.

Yet, you never cease to wish that perhaps someday you too will find the old tree and the fuzzy Totoro inside.

Remember to bring an umbrella.

Film Review (Non-spoiler)

Reign over me
(Vänner för livet)
2007
Director & Write
r: Mike Binder
Genre:
Drama
Main actors: Adam Sandler & Don Cheadle

Yet another film that shows the post-9/11 depression that (if not showed on Oprah) slowly becomes a hush-hush theme in the media of the United States.
Adam Sandler portrays a man, a man living in such denial of the loss of his wife, three daughters and poodle, that he surrounds himself with LP-records, renovation of the kitchen and playing the drums at a local hang-out place.
Yet, Don Cheadle, Adam's former college roommate, bumps into him on the street and the old friendship gets a fresh, but rather peculiar, start.
The film portrays the problematics of the families and their returning to a somewhat normal life after 9/11. Living in such denial and pain and with no help to proceed gives film a sad but realistic character - media focusing on the terror and Al-Quaida while victims are forced into isolation to find peace and time to grieve.
The film also touches on the subject of help. What is help? Who is intitled to give it? Does the person have to ask for it? What is the right time and place? And how does one help?
Don Cheadle does a wonderful job as the friend that after all this time - finds a roommate and wants to help the grieving process. After several attempts and several methods the result is quite simple - there is no time to help. Such grieve never vanishes - but with time it becomes tolerable.

In conclusion, this film is not for the lighthearted.
Think and reflect and you will have a great filmatic experience and hopefully it will give you a critical perspective on the priorities of the United States in connection to the war against terror and taking care of their own.
Makes you reflect what Semper Fi actually means.

Yesterday I began writing my introduction to my under graduate essay - neitherless to say it is going rather slow.
How on earth can I form sentences of matters I can't even get in a straight line in my head?
And I hate working from home - Far too many distractions and not at all inspiring.
And the best thing yet! I can't go to the universitylibrary because some nut blew up the ATM outside and the police is making sure the place won't collapse. So bye bye nice places to sit and write.

Otherwise I want to go and check out SOUK - which will most likely be overprized and mainstream in the sense of "not being gothic".
But checking new malls out is always fascinating.

Worked out yesterday as well - and for 90 intense minutes. Jump, Crouch, Lift, Bend, Hop, Run, Sit-ups, Cobra more and more. I almost flippin' fainted!
But I survived and I feel much more capable than before!

On another notice - I'm generally bored today.

And so I ask myself: What is it with the kitty that makes my heart jump of joy every time I spot something new? It's just a cat, there’s nothing more to it.

Yet, I am seriously collecting loads of kitty things, more specific bags and clothes. And it definitely does not help that H&M has launched this major Hello Kitty collection of cuddly sleep- and relax wear. I mean the tops are more than ok to wear as regular clothes. And so I do.
Then the children's department has a bunch of clothes some in the sizes 158-164 and 170 which fits me like a glove - thanks for the bikini I'm all set for the summer of 2007 in Sweden and Chile in December!
This other day I bought the body lotion which smells like vanilla *yum* and the body-spray mist "Candy". So now I even smell like her!
Could this be an identification crisis of mine? Why do I identify myself with her? OR do I like her because she might be something I long to be?
Or could it just be that she's so darn cute.

No.

I do believe that Hello Kitty is more than merchandise. Hello Kitty is now a part of our postmodern popular culture.
Hello Kitty symbolizes qualities and a state of mind that no longer exist in our current "Sex-Culture".
She's cute - not smoking “sex” hot
She's innocent - not penetrated
She's positive - but naive nor ignorant
She's hopeful - not pessimistic and realistic
She makes friends for love and compassion – not in pursuit of social status
She completes herself FIRST - then include the friends around her. She's independent and confident in her persona.

Hello Kitty simply symbolizes a lost culture within our current popular culture.

And now being integrated into the Swedish market is fabulous. Little girls no longer walk around with Barbie and Bratz symbolizing the smoking hot stereotypical female searching for social acceptance and the perfect “Ken”. Today they can choose to walk around with a little cat symbolizing what every little child should be; caring and confident. The boundaries are blurred between the institutions that congregate our social existence giving merchandise and philosophy time and space to work together in hope for something worth our while. Perhaps the day of the sex is vanishing? Most likely I dream of a culture that does not judge and open doors depending on the size of your tits.

In other words, Sanrio Inc. and Hello Kitty is a billion dollar market – indeed I am fully aware of it, but it is also an alternative philosophy and a way of life for both children, young adults and adults.

Perhaps I like her so much because she makes ME believe I can do BETTER, be more confident in myself as the little cat finds confidence in herself.
